This website belongs to Robin Ashlin, author of the Built for Big Things children's book series. This notice explains, in plain English, what personal information is collected through this site and related activities, and how it is looked after under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
Newsletter. If you join the launch list, your email address is collected — nothing else. It is used only to send occasional news about new books and free resources. Signup uses double opt-in: you must confirm by email before you are added, and every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
Giveaways and review copies. If you win a book giveaway or request a review copy, your name and postal address are used solely to send you the book. They are stored securely, never added to any mailing list, never shared with anyone except the postal carrier, and deleted once delivery is confirmed.
The newsletter list is managed by MailerLite, which processes data under its own GDPR-compliant terms. This site is hosted by Netlify. The site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
Your information is never sold, rented, swapped, or shared with third parties for marketing. No profiling or automated decision-making takes place.
You can ask at any time to see the information held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email hello@builtforbigthings.com and it will be handled promptly. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
